About

About Coffee Brew Guide

Practical, tested starting points for home brewers who want repeatable coffee without unnecessary jargon or expensive gear.

Who maintains this site

Coffee Brew Guide is independently maintained by Joshua Flowers. The goal is not to make brewing sound mysterious; it is to give you a sensible baseline, explain what each variable changes, and help you adjust by taste.

How recipes are developed

Each method starts with weights, temperature, grind description, and timing that a home brewer can reproduce. Advice is checked against manufacturer safety instructions and original sources when a recipe or factual claim is attributed to someone else. Guides favor controlled changes—one variable per brew—over claims that one recipe works for every coffee.

What you will find here

  • Step-by-step recipes: Measured starting points for common home brewing methods.
  • Ratios and tools: A calculator and comparison table that make the numbers easy to reuse.
  • Troubleshooting and FAQs: Symptom-first help for sour, bitter, weak, muddy, or inconsistent coffee.

Corrections and updates

Coffee advice should be specific enough to test and easy to correct. If you find an error or a step that is unclear, send it through the contact page. Substantive corrections are made directly in the guide rather than hidden in a separate note.
